6th SE Outreach

Before our 6th outreach this past Tuesday, I was not in the greatest place. The spiritual warfare was on me and I was asking God if I was really somebody he wanted to use. So much sin in me and I struggled in thinking why would He bother with me.

I really needed Him and He came through in a way that caused me to tear up in the process, amazingly using me when in no way did I think He would. First of all, it was our busiest outreach to date.
I could not tell you how many people we talked to or gave food/supplies to. We evangelized, we prayed for, we prayed over, listened, comforted, rebuked, counseled, advised, and built relationships. And that was just in the first hour!

Then, right in the middle of all this madness, a man I was witnessing and ministering to, decided to gave his life to the Lord. I was overwhelmed and honored so greatly that emotionally I had a tough time handling it. Those who know me know I am not a real emotional guy. But God is so merciful and good, not only for this guys salvation but to use me to lead him to it. God is so good.

Then, in the midst of me ministering to this guy, a women that Melissa was speaking with, said that she was very thankful for what God had been doing in her life and she wanted to get baptized. Circumstances did not allow for it this week but hopefully next week, we can make that happen. A little later, there was another woman that I was speaking to, that I sensed wanted to give her life but the spiritual warfare was to great for her. Praying that she will be back.

Also, in those 2 hours we gave out 16 large pizzas (1-2 slices per person), 34 hygiene kits (each containing a Gospel Synthesis), several dozen bottles of water, Sunny D, Gatorade and Hi-C, several Bibles and tracts and a lot of snacks.

We are all extremely exited about the future of this ministry and to see how God is going to use it. We really want to be able to get some pictures of this ministry in action but none of us has been able to do that so far. We barely have time to set up and pray before it’s full throttle and the next thing we know, we’re done. I think that will change this next week as we are opening ourselves up to staying longer and seeing what God wants to do. Depending on God’s leading, we might even have a Bible Study at the end.

And please, please, please keep praying for the team and the people we are ministering to, pray for the weather to be good on Tuesday afternoons, pray for continued favor with the businesses in the area that are helping us (Dollar General and Emilio’s Pizza). Pray for us to find or provide a place for these people to go when they come to faith in Jesus to be discipled. Pray for more labors to come along side us in this work.

Items we are running low on this week:

Lip balm for the ladies https://a.co/d/8iw4jsz
Snacks (chips, crackers, granola bars, etc)
Drinks (bottled water, Sunny D, Hi-C, etc)
a few large print Bibles for those who’s eyes aren’t the best.
We also need some full size Bibles that we can use for the Bible study following the outreach. We will keep those and hand them out for the Bible study and then collect them after.

As always, much love and God Bless you

  1. Praise God—what amazing joy to read this! It’s incredible how He moves in power, even when we least expect it. Seeing Him answer Jeff’s prayer to lead someone to Christ is just another reminder that our God is always working, always faithful.

To the team—thank you for showing up and letting God work through you. As someone cheering and praying from the sidelines, I’m celebrating with you. What a victory for the Kingdom!

    Isaiah 55:12
“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you.”
